Non-Surgical Options: Incisions vs. Injections

by | Jan 11, 2016

Have you seen the new Star Wars movie yet? The characters have all aged quite a bit since last we met, but hey, that happens. You can’t stop time from passing—not even in the world of movies! If you want to win the battle against aging, though, and look younger without having cosmetic surgery to do so, not to worry—we have some special effects of our own! Opting for injections instead of incisions is a great alternative. These non-surgical procedures, often called dermal fillers, can fill in fine lines and wrinkles quickly and with very little discomfort or downtime.

Botox® is a well-known Hollywood favorite that blocks nerve impulses to your muscles, keeping them from contracting and forming wrinkles. Juvéderm® is a prescription gel that works with collagen to support skin and add volume to creases. You may have some swelling and bruising around the injection site for a bit, but typically you’ll recover in light speed.

There are other types of injections as well, and we’d be happy to explain them all to you so you can decide what’s best, but if needles give you the heebie-jeebies, another non-surgical option is available.

Sure Luke Skywalker has a lightsaber, but so do we—sort of. Our laser skin resurfacing procedure uses concentrated beams of light to remove damaged skin for a smoother appearance.
